Qu13e Queries? Quest no Qurther!

According to our extremely close (yet completely platonic, we assure you) friend, Randomeis, Qu13e has been an ongoing mystery for a few years now that lay dormant for awhile but was recently revivified this past Autumn. Then on December 31, 2007, a bunch of crap happened that we clearly do not understand. Not that we’ve really tried very hard to do so, but hey. Anyway, the site updated with a bunch of cryptic pictures, hidden text, and various links, obviously representing some sort of attempt at communication with the Earth by extraterrestrials. That, or the Japanese, an equally inscrutable people.

Anyway, the best part about this game is that we’ve made a Wiki for it. Hooray!

No wait, the best part about this game is that it involves a character named Random, the absolute most superlative name any character could have. Feel free to check out the discussion at Unfiction and help out on the Wiki, while I check out the status of my borscht-poo.

In what was clearly a move by an obvious plant, a certain “user” on the “Unforum” posted a purported “email” linking to a certain “game” that required all too many “quote marks” to make this joke “work.” We’re not positive this was an inside job, let’s just say it’s never “prudent” to take any “options off the table.” Or something.

Seriously though, this may or may not be connected to the CBS Show, “NUMB3RS,” which just happened to have produced an episode recently that featured Alternate Reality Gaming as a key element. That’s a lot of ifs, and we know how they make you nervous, so, okay, let’s just say it is connected to the show, just in a non-obvious way…for now! And possibly for later too, we don’t know, we’re not involved nor privy to secret informations, or couldn’t you tell? We can barely figure out how to type a nearly-coherent post.

Oh, also besides the Unforum thread as a resource for your collaborative puzzling, um, pleasure, we’ve succumbed to another Wiki request! Hooray!

The Case of the Wikified Contest

Well, SJP’s fragrant contest is still going strong and it’s reported that today marked the release of the first bonus video challenge with an extra chance at valuable prizes, if you like smelling nice or something. Wait, wasn’t there something about an iPhone in one of the prize packages? I can’t remember and can’t be bothered to check.

So anyway, someone asked us to set up a wiki to collect contest info and so we have done! If’n you’re not the type who makes movies and is working on that bit today, maybe you could jump on and help flesh it out a bit?

Damned if we didn’t get yet another request for a wiki, this time for the promotional mystery surrounding the pending release of “The Genesis Code” by Christopher Forrest. The release date is August 21, 2007, according to Amazon.

Wiki the Second

How about that, we haven’t even been up for a week and we’ve already received our first Request for a Wiki from Someone Other than Us. It was a momentous occasion, to be sure, and one which won’t soon be forgot. Except for that bit where we forgot to set it up last night before we went to bed. But that doesn’t count, or something.

So, anyway, we set up this Wiki thing for this Movie thing that nobody knows what it’s really Called so they keep making up Names for it. We, being supremely Uncreative, stuck with the original two names, and thus the ~~1-18-08~~ Cloverfield Despoiler (or was it ~~Cloverfield~~ 1-18-08?) Wiki was born. And, lo, it was ugly, as are most Babies. Ours, anyway.
